iPhone 3G S – Business Accounts
Do you currently have an iPhone under a business account (I do) and want to upgrade to the 3G S?
If so, this is what you need to know.
1. Just like the previous iPhone release, you can’t get your iPhone at the Apple Store. It must be ordered/purchased at an AT&T store or through your online AT&T Premier Store (for business.) This means at least an hour of waiting while the sales associate complains about the computers and tries to bring up your account.
2. You may still qualify for the discounted prices of $199 or $299 (we did.) Yay!
3. If you do order the iPhone, it will first be delivered to the store, they call you, and then you go down and go through the activation process (see wait time above.)
4. If you want to try and get one on Friday, the AT&T stores will open at 8am (7am for those that ordered their phones the day of the announcement.) Our local store in Santa Clara reported getting 30 phones last year so it may be difficult to walk-in on Friday and get a phone.
Good News - The price may be right.
Bad News – Its still a hassle to get an iPhone under a business plan.
We ordered ours through the store and were told to expect about a week for the phones to arrive.
As this information came from our local AT&T store, it is very likely subject to change.
